Celebrate Land Trust Day with Wildflower Starts at Mast General Store!

On Land Trust Day, Saturday, June 6, Mast General Store Waynesville will donate 20% of the day’s sales to Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy. SAHC will be onsite from 10-5, hosting a wildflower planting station!

 

Established in 1974, the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy today protects more than 90,000 acres in the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee. In doing so, it’s saving unique plant and animal habitats, such as the Highlands of Roan along the Appalachian Trail, freshwater sources, farmland, and pristine landscapes.

What is a Land Trust? These are non-profit organizations that preserve the health and heritage of our natural spaces. Also known as conservancies, land trusts may work with landowners to safeguard family farms, create accessible public parks, protect wetlands and wildlife habitats, or provide recreational opportunities everyone can enjoy.
