Description
Ian Selig is a passionate advocate for high-quality education and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve teaching and learning. Coming from a long line of educators and adventure seekers, he champions the impact of well-designed instruction and steeping the soul in the peaks, valleys, and rivers of the Appalachian Mountains. He is an Educational Developer at Western Carolina University, where he works with faculty to design motivational instruction that empowers learners to grow beyond expectation. Ian is also a leader in the field of AI and education. He leads a team that tracks AI developments, and he is currently on a UNC System-supported Faculty Learning Community on Generative AI in Teaching and Learning and WCU's AI Working group. He is a frequent presenter on AI and education, conducts research on AI use, and offers consultation services to faculty members and local businesses. Ian is eager to share his insights and expertise with others, and he is committed to helping others use AI to improve teaching and learning.
