With great excitement, we introduce you to Dean Garnes, a local, highly skilled artisan from the Bethel Community in Waynesville, North Carolina. With 23 years of dedicated service at the local paper mill, Evergreen Packaging, Dean's life took an unexpected turn when the mill abruptly shut down, propelling him into the world of entrepreneurship and leading to the establishment of his new venture, Innovation Woodworking, LLC. In the wake of the layoff, Dean immersed himself in his 1200-square-foot workshop, pouring his expertise into specialized woodworking, including custom-designed furniture, upscale decor pieces, and custom-made cabinetry, serving residential and commercial clients. Dean holds a degree in machining, having earned a machinist degree from the local community college, HCC. This educational qualification enriches his skill set and enables him to infuse precision and technical expertise into his creations, elevating their quality and craftsmanship.
