Waynesville tax and accounting office is seeking an Office Manager to become a valued member of our team. No prior experience in a tax office is necessary or required.  We’re looking for an individual who possesses a strong desire to change their current employment situation and who wants to be an integral part of a dynamic team of staff who enjoy their work.

Office Manager Responsibilities

  • Answering phone calls and routing callers to the appropriate person
  • Collecting mail from P.O. Box and preparation of outgoing mail with correct postage
  • Greeting and assisting visitors
  • Scanning confidential client documents into our paperless workflow system, utilizing an indexing system and ensuring the secure storage of those documents
  • Processing tax returns (send electronically to client for signature and then electronically filing) including follow up communication with clients
  • Organize and schedule meetings and appointments
  • Invoicing clients on a frequent basis
  • Handling firm payroll and accounts payable functions
  • Ordering supplies and maintaining office equipment in working order

Office Manager Requirements

We’re seeking a dynamic team member who possesses the following skills and then some:

  • Excellent computer skills
  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, stay organized and take ownership of position
  • Strong intuition, able to determine when something is inaccurate and willing to speak up
  • Desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others
  • Ability to work independently in a small firm environment, self-starter
  • High-School Diploma or equivalent
  • Punctual, with reliable means of transportation
