WNC SHUTTLE LUXURY TRANSPORTATION — SEEKING PART-TIME PROFESSIONAL DRIVER (1099)

About the opportunity

As a 1099 contractor, you will drive WNC Shuttle vehicles, represent our brand with professionalism and warmth, and help our clients enjoy a smooth, stress-free ride. A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is not required. We are ready to begin onboarding immediately.

What you will do

Safely transport clients in WNC Shuttle vehicles to airports, events, and destinations across Western NC and beyond.

Provide clear communication, precise timing, and thoughtful service from pickup to drop-off.

Follow each assignment’s itinerary, appearance standards, and client-care protocols.

Communicate proactively about timing, ETAs, and any issues affecting service.

Requirements

Meet insurer minimum driver age for livery work (currently 26).

Valid, unrestricted North Carolina Class C driver’s license.

Clean motor-vehicle record for the past 3 years.

No DUI convictions.

Complete background and motor-vehicle record checks with written authorization (engagement contingent on results).

Comply with Company's smoke-free/vape-free work environment.

Comfortable using a smartphone for texting, GPS/navigation, and basic flight-tracking tools.

Able to lift and handle luggage up to ~50 lbs.

Complete WNC Shuttle orientation on safety, client standards, company systems, and vehicle use before your first assignment.

Warm, respectful communication with clients, venues, and dispatch.

Precise execution of itineraries, careful luggage handling, and clean vehicle handoff.

Sound judgment, discretion, and calm problem-solving in changing conditions.

Consistent use of company systems for updates, ETAs, and confirmations.

Preferred qualifications (experience that elevates your candidacy)

Experience is helpful, but not required. If you bring the expectations above, we will invest in your success.

Prior professional driving, hospitality, or guest-service experience.

Local road knowledge across Western NC, mountain-weather readiness, and night-driving comfort.

Certifications such as defensive-driving, first aid/CPR, or customer-service training.

Multilingual communication skills.

Scheduling and assignments

Flexible hours: you may accept or decline specific assignments.

Assignments are published hours to days in advance.

Operations run 24/7/365, with common windows including early-morning airport runs and late-evening events.

Compensation and payment

Competitive per-assignment compensation ranges $20.00 - $60.00+/hr, and is shared in advance of each engagement invitation. Specific details of the compensation structure will be provided during interviews.  Electronic payment issued by WNC Shuttle based on completed assignments recorded in our system.
