Project Manager – AttainmentNC: Haywood Workforce Coalition

Position Summary

The Haywood Workforce Coalition is Haywood County's cross-sector education and workforce collaborative participating in AttainmentNC, myFutureNC's statewide initiative that brings together employers, educators, workforce, and community partners to create stronger pathways from education to good jobs and meet local workforce needs.

The Project Manager serves as the day-to-day leader of the Haywood Workforce Coalition, coordinating efforts across education, workforce, business, and community partners to strengthen local talent pipelines and prepare more people for high-demand careers.

In Haywood County, this work is carried out through the Haywood Skilled Trades Alliance, the Coalition's employer-led initiative focused on strengthening skilled trades education, work-based learning, and career pathways.

The Project Manager serves as a neutral convener, building relationships, aligning partners, and keeping the Coalition focused on shared goals and measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

● Lead Cross-Sector Collaboration: Convene and work with partners from Haywood County Schools K-12, Haywood Community College, Haywood Chamber of Commerce employers, workforce, and community organizations

● Implement Strategy: Develop and execute the local AttainmentNC plan, including career pathways and work-based learning programs

● Engage Employers: Recruit and collaborate with employers to co-design pathways aligned with workforce needs

● Build Talent Pipelines: Support outreach and success for priority and underserved populations

● Track Performance: Monitor outcomes, manage data, and submit required reports

● Ensure Sustainability: Develop long-term funding and expansion strategies

Qualifications

● Experience in workforce development, education, or economic development

● Strong project management and organizational skills

● Proven ability to lead partnerships and engage stakeholders

● Excellent communication and facilitation skills

● Familiarity with North Carolina systems preferred

Additional Information

● Term: 24 months (grant-funded)

● Continuation: Dependent on future funding and sustainability efforts

● Compensation: Commensurate with Experience
